The Rear view

The rear view for me represents ; hindsight or "retrospect". Now that I have established this, I want you to look in the rear view mirror of your life and remember what the Lord has done.  I know there are a lot of things and events that have taken place in the course of our individual lives but I want us to  reflect on all things things that were done by the Lord. Sometimes we forget how far we have come because of the Lord, sometimes we forget what the lord has done for us.  Prophet Jeremiah said "I recall to my mind, therefor I have hope that it is by the mercy of the lord that we are not consumed". At times we forget how far we have come and what we have overcome.  We should not look back and focus on the negatives or the people or events that have hurt us but we must focus on how the Lord brought us through all that. We have all been through valleys been to the mountain peaks. In this context, the valleys represnt the lows and the peaks represent the highs. Seas...

Critically Important Assumptions

Critically Important Assumptions are  facts that must be true in the real world for a business to be a success. It is imperative that you understand that if your CIA's turn out to be false your enterprise is highly unlikely to be the success you initially hoped it would be. What I want you to grasp here is a basic concept that is used to predict the likelihood of a business being profitable/succesful..Modern day poet Jay-Z , has a verse with the following lyrics:"I am not a business man, I am a business, man". What he basically meant is that he views himself as the "product/Service provider", now this is the philosophy I want to sell to you. My question is if you were a business what would your CIA's be? We need to be aware of  the factors our success relies on we should not just assume it will just be automatic. We have to be intentional with our success. I have heard many people say or post things like :"I hope 2022 will be good to me" but then th...

The Unknown

In most cases we fear the unknown, we prefer what we are familiar with. This is the reason many of us find ourselves stuck in a loop, never getting out of our comfort zone.  Psychologists say that most of our thoughts and actions are repeat actions, for the fear of the unknown has trapped us.When last did you think a new thought or did something out of the ordinary.? This is why people who had abusive fathers usually stick with abusive partners for love to them is associated with violence. This is why those that are born poor usually die poor and those born rich die rich because both groups of people fear the unknown. You may be thinking it would be difficult to fear wealth and prefer to be stuck in poverty but it is just as simple as ABC.. Those stuck in poverty want money but they fear the unknown and their subconscious is fully aware that to be wealthy they have to drop their old actions, thoughts and philosophies. When we are a scared of the next level because we prefer the dev...

The "Free" Prisoners

The greatest way to prevent a prisoner from escaping is to make sure he never realizes he is in prison, according to a famous philosopher. I have several inquiries for you: Are you truly liberated? Can you do as you please?  Possibility to express oneself?  able to be who you are? Unaffected by the views of others? Are you free to buy whatever you want? In my view, colonization of the mind rather than of the land (or countries) is what freedom means. In addition to colonialism,p I also want to talk about the prison of our own limited self-belief. The second prison I'll discuss is the financial prison that many of us have spent our entire lives in.  Many of us are "captured" in our own imaginations, not by the steel gates and walls of prisons. The mind is bound by limiting thoughts and the "virus" of a negative mindset, even when the body appears to be free. Worse even, most of us are bound until we pass away since we are unaware that we are "Prisoners....

"Woke But Asleep"

In our times, the word "woke" is used frequently to refer to people we regard as conscious or "aware". The wokeness we usually refer to is up for questioning today in this text. As time evolves, the meaning of some words or phrases becomes "vague" because it is used frequently thus leading to confusion in terms of true interpretation.  The word "woke" is described by Merriam-Webster as “chiefly US slang”, the dictionary defines the word as: “Aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice).”Woke nowadays refers to being aware or well informed in a political or cultural sense, especially regarding issues surrounding marginalised communities - it describes someone who has “woken up” to issues of social injustice. How can a generation full of so many "woke" people then struggle with so much? In our present day we deal with many issues & problems caused by nothing else but ou...

The MENTAL Diet

Medical practioners have always said that you are what you eat. My argument is that the same goes for our brains, we become a total sum of what we put into our minds.  We cannot change our output without changing the inputs. Whatever we input into our minds is what comes out on the other end. You cannot feed your mind negative information and then get a positive output. We cannot feed our minds inspirational content and not be inspired  Our mental diet precedes our outlook on life and the results we get. (a) If you "feed" yourself the word of God you will begin to speak the word.  (b) If you feed yourself gossip you will begin to speak about gossip. (c) If you listen to music you will begin to (i) sing the music (ii) speak about the music.  (d) If you listen to negative and sad people, you will begin to be negative and sad.  Above are examples to clarify my point and hopefully you can relate to them. This is why if I listen to a "Kendrick Lamar" song, I will beg...

Communication As An Artform

(Adapted from a video by Vusi Thembekwayo, titled The Gift of Communication)  We need to be great communicators if we are to contribute to the world. There is a process one can follow, to be a great communicator. In the video by Vusi Thembekwayo, he goes on to state that there is an "scientific formula" for effective communication and it entails the following: 1. Understand Motivations  Nobody ever does something, just for the sake of doing it. Every action has a backdrop that is invisible to the naked eye. There is always a certain form of factor that makes people act a certain way. We need to understand what drives people to action, if we are to engage in meaningful conversation (exchanges). Pastor Michael Phillips once said "When you see people do what they do, don't judge the what find out why". This is because there is always a cause of the effect.  (i)I am writing this chapter because there is a certain motivation, I am trying to achieve a certain goal and...
