The Rear view

The rear view for me represents ; hindsight or "retrospect". Now that I have established this, I want you to look in the rear view mirror of your life and remember what the Lord has done.

I know there are a lot of things and events that have taken place in the course of our individual lives but I want us to  reflect on all things things that were done by the Lord. Sometimes we forget how far we have come because of the Lord, sometimes we forget what the lord has done for us.

Prophet Jeremiah said "I recall to my mind, therefor I have hope that it is by the mercy of the lord that we are not consumed". At times we forget how far we have come and what we have overcome.

We should not look back and focus on the negatives or the people or events that have hurt us but we must focus on how the Lord brought us through all that. We have all been through valleys been to the mountain peaks. In this context, the valleys represnt the lows and the peaks represent the highs. Seasons change but he remains the same, his praises have to be continually in our mouths. Through it all, he is with us. David said to his brothers "You meant it for evil, but the lord made it good". How many things were meant for evil that the lord has made good in your life?

We serve a good God, a master who cares equally for us all.He has made us not only overcomes but more than conquers. Weapons are fashioned against us all but we still stand because of his power andgrace that is at work within us. There is a trace of the Lord's mercies in all our lives.

In Psalm 145 David calls us to take the time to look back on our lives and reflect on the goodness of our God. We are encouraged to praise God for his greatness, his compassion, and his faithfulness, and to thank God for his many gifts throughout our lives. In the words of an old hymn, we are encouraged to“Count our blessings, name them one by one.”
