Ambition & Contentment

We must, at all costs, strike a balance between ambition and contentment, in my opinion.A great desire to do or accomplish something is referred to as ambition, and it often calls for tenacity and laborious effort.A condition of happiness and satisfaction is called contentment. The majority of people in the 21st century are extremely ambitious, constantly seeking the next objective or pay cheque.Over time, we become so preoccupied with moving on to the next thing that we forget about the present.Humans would not accomplish much without ambition, so it is a good thing to have it.I'm arguing that we shouldn't spend our entire lives focused on gaining more to the point that we fail to appreciate what we already have. We must start to see our life from a fresh angle and acknowledge that we are already living parts of our ambitions if we want to be happy. Not that we must just accomplish one goal and then stop there, but we must always have a grateful mindset. The majority of us lack ...

A Brief History of The Bible

The Bible is not just another book but a collective of different books written by different people over a long time.Clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson says the Bible is a "library" and I could not agree more with his observation . The first printed Bible according to researchers is the Gutenberg Bible ,this was possible because of the invention of the Gutenberg printing press. There are 66 books in the Holy book .It is widely believed that Moses wrote the first books in the Bible ,namely ; Genesis ,Exodus ,Leviticus ,Numbers and most parts of Dueteronomy ,these books are part of the old testament .Over the years scholars and researchers have come with many theories of who really wrote the books mentioned above and when but this is not really my focus in this writing . The new testament revolves around the Jesus Christ of Nazareth and his ministry.Books like Matthew ,John and Peter who were disciples of Jesus feature in the new testament.Today almost everyone can access the ...

Unconscious Competence

It is my belief that we all want to be competent at one thing or another depending on our objectives and our long term goals or rather "desires". The big question is how do we get to a level of unconscious Competence ; where we no longer have to think about how to get the job done but simply do it because our body and mind has for lack of a better term "mastered" that particular activity. There are 4 levels/stages of the competence model : unconscious incompetence, concious incompetence, concious competence and lastly unconscious Competence. Unconscious Competence is when an individual can do a task without having to think much about it because they have internalized the knowledge in what is called a "knowledge bank". This is when the skill is almost second nature, for instance - making your bed or driving your car. It is imperative that we reach this stage of competence if we intend to be effective doers and teachers. Take Christiano Ronaldo for instance,...

The Ultimate Antidote

Although the world we live in has many issues, I think the Bible contains all the solutions we need. First of all, I want to emphasise that the world would be extremely different from how it is today if sin had not entered the hearts of men.I firmly believe—I think everyone does, even if they don't want to express it—that if we followed all of Yaweh's laws, everything would be different. As a Christian, I think that God, the Alpha and Omega, is the one who created the world.Every manufacturer has the design specifications for their creations. In this usage, "the world" refers to every person, piece of soil, and resource on the planet. The concepts found throughout the Bible provide solutions for all of the problems we might encounter in this life. What is regrettable is that many of us do not know the Bible or, if we do, we do not obey God's commands. Hosea 4:6 King James Version 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge,...
