Influence

What is influence?

Influence is the power to affect somebody’s character ,beliefs or actions through example ,fear ,respect ,admiration . Every person was created by our heavenly father to be a Person of influence. 

You might be wondering what you need to do to become an influential person.

1.Be Competent

Competent can be defined as ;having ability ,power,authority,skill and knowledge to do what needs to be done(To compete tasks)

Competent people are people of influence and are motivational and inspiration. They achieve results and reach goals through their abilities and skills acquired through self -investment.

“Practise makes perfect” I am sure we have all heard this phrase before or even used it .In order to be competent you need into invest in your skills so for example if you are a song writer or music composer you are most likely to get better and improve your song writing skills with every song you write. In reality practise makes improvement. Always focus on improving, be a better version of yourself and refuse to settle.

2.Develop High Performance Habits/Systems

 To be a high performance individual we need to be highly creative ,energetic and inspired .

High performance individuals are highly effective ,they complete tasks fast but this is not to say we must rush through tasks and not be thorough.

We need to take initiative in order to be high performance individuals ,in essence we must do things others are not willing to do ,we must go the extra mile .

Find Ways to make things happen -Find efficient and creative ways to get things done. From the way you talk to the way you execute your ideas it must be clear that you are confident and creative .Possessing the qualities (Confidence and Creativity )draws a lot of people to you .

Produce Results -Find your strength and share it with others ,do not use your strength to dominate others .Share your ideas and vision ,people with the Same goals Will automatically be drawn to you .Be a part of the “winning team “ the results will be automatically generated over time .For example if you are a farmer and your strength is your vast knowledge of Agriculture and you share it with others you are bound to see the results of your work(Results ).

3.Be Present

If your presence is felt ,so will your absence.This means that your presence will clearly be evident in any space you are in .

There must be a difference from when you are present to when you are absent ,you must be irreplaceable. You should communicate through your work that you are ;dedicated ,driven and highly valuable .

Show people that you care – People around you must know that you care ,you interest in their lives must be clear to see .It can be with small things like greeting people or asking how their day was .You can also show you care by being positive and always lending a helping hand where you can.

Ultimately influence is earned over time through ;dedication ,hard work and commitment to a certain goal .Influence produces leaders hence all leaders are people of influence.

A Transformed Mind

Many of us are rigid in thought hence we are stagnant in life. The good news is that we have the ability to change our minds - our thought patterns (perceptions, beliefs..) One of my prayers these days is "God transform my mind". That is because i am well aware that if my mind is transformed, my life will be transformed. Our thoughts are often revealed in our actions.
