Faith Is Insanity
Faith can simply be described as "insanity" by the logical person. This should not be surprising because many people live their lives by sight(logic) not by faith.
Almost all the greatest people who achieved the seemingly impossible were at one point or another referred to as "crazy".This means that people associate believing in things that cannot be seen with mental illness. If you declare that you are healed when you are sick, it seems as if you are delusional or hallucinating but the declaration is just a display of faith (Faith is the fabric of the impossible).
I was thinking about the story of Noah (and the ark) in the Bible. I can imagine what people thought or even said about him when he was building the ark because he "believed" there would be a flood. He acted the way he did because he had a revelation (encounter) and he knew he had to act on faith not logic.
What I am to clarify to you is that anytime you act on faith your sanity may be questioned. You must expect this and not take offense, because you understand that faith is insanity to the logical person. When David went face to face with Goliath he needed to have faith to believe that a shepard boy could defeat a giant. Perceving only by the naked eye, it would seem that David was setting himself up for failure but we all know that story ended with the giant biting the dust.
Without faith it is impossible to please God, this fundamental truth means that we are "called" to live by faith. This is not as easy as it seems, for faith is the fabric of the impossible. Anything can be attained and achieved through faith. Many of us live lives of pain and misery for we do not have faith, we have "doubt". I believe that one of the fundamental differences between the people that are materializing their dreams and those who watch and envy them is faith. There is a ministry and vision inside all of us but we need to have faith in order to make our dreams a reality.
In conclusion we are all called to live by faith but very few heed to the call, the rest of us just live by logic, for we are doubtful and we only believe what we see(when believing is actually seeing). In his book The Power of Positive Thinking, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale wrote that "The acquiring of dynamic faith is accomplished by prayer, lots of prayer and by reading and mentally absorbing the Bible and by practicing its faith techniques".
