Persistence Is It's Own Reward - Brian Tracy
Everytime you push through the pain and persist you are activating your own happiness.
The reason you feel so bad about your life may just be a symptom of a disease CALLED "Failure To Persist". Had you persisted in the past you would be living in a different present. The great news is you can start being persistent today because it is never too late. No matter your age, it is never too early or too late to start.
We seek comfort hence we do not persist, so when there is resistance we simply quit and just give up. In his book No Excuses, Brian Tracy goes on to write the following statement "Winners never quit, and quitters never win. Your ability to hold on when things get harder is what will set you apart from the crowd.
Being persistent brings together patience and faith that things will indeed work out in your Favour. Things do not work out for those who do not keep trying again. The people you admire are persistent, they held on where many men let go. Do you think Elon Musk would be this "influential" in the world today if he did not persevere?
Work hard if you want to live the "soft life" and just do not stop. The true test of your persistence is in hard times not when things are easy. Anybody can do the easy but it takes a persistent individual to do the difficult. Thomas A. Edison once said "our greatest weakness lies in giving up", we need to be determined if we are to accomplish our goals.
A Few Benefits of persistence :
1.You will become an expert
-If you keep on trying again and again you will gain experience and knowledge that cannot be found in a book. You become more and more valuable because you have learnt through trial and error.
2.You will set a good example .
-Persistence isasign of ambition.
3.You will be able to create the life your desire
-Say your "desire" is to run a marathon , you will have to be able to push beyond a point you have never been able to before and this is the essence of tenacity. You get the results you want through persistence.
4.You become consistent
-We live in a world of "The Compound Effect" and its all about how small habits lead to big results if iterated continuously.
-Eat "enough" pies and cake, you will be the "real heavy weight", sooner or later.
-That is why I keep on writing this blog , sooner or later the Compound Effect will give me the results I desired when I started..
-The power of repetition.
5.You will develop a warriors mentality.
A great men of God said "In between potential and pefromance there is often pain". This is what make it relatively difficult to persist , nobody really likes the pain but that is the price one has to pay.
Persistence or continuity will be painful, it will not feel good. Ask anybody who has achieved anything worth achieving if there was no pain involved in the process. Our body will tell us to quit and our emotions may also mislead us.
Most of us have the ability to walk but we can only walk so far.. Soon enough our bodies give in to the pain and send a signal to the mind that "This is too much". Then we decide this is the right moment to stop. We stop where the true champions persist.
It is easier to be persistent when it comes to eating food, some of us can eat the whole day but it is harder to persist when it comes to fasting. My point is what will define us in the end is our ability to persist in doing the hard things not the easy ones, the right things and not the wrong things.
Persistence should be applied in areas where we want to see impact and growth. So if you want to have less money in your "pocket" you apply persistence in over spending. If you want to have more knowledge on a certain topic, you apply persistence in order to acquire that knowledge.
Education is not the key to success, persistence is :That is why you might be struggling to succeed even though you do have some form of education. I have nothing against being educated but my point is it doesn't guarantee that you will reach your desired destination. A person with a Lower level qualification than you can achieve 100 times more than you if they are persistent.
My whole point is this, persistence needs to be weaved into our lives if we are to truly succeed. We need to reprogram our minds for the success we desire otherwise we will be In a continuous loop of disappointment.
A few Example of persistent people I admire :
1.Nelson Mandela
2.Christiano Ronaldo
3.Sbusiso Leope
4. Vusi Thembekwayo
5.Hellen Keller
6.Bishop T. D Jakes
7.Refiloe Maele Phoolo
8.Strive Masiyiwa
9.Elon Musk
10.Lekau Sehoana
