Concrete Beliefs

At times our own beliefs hold us back, not the devil or circumstances but our own beliefs. Simply put we are stuck with old information in a new chapter. A pastor by the name of Michael Phillips said the following in a sermon "The greatest threat to the future God has for you is your comfort level with your past"

Our beliefs shape our lives, they control our thoughts and our actions. If we believed that the rays of the sun could set us on fire we would not dare to leave the house during the day. This then proves my point that is; our beliefs control us and at times trap us or limit us.

When we have a limited perspective, we are blind to the possibilities. Frames create focus, so if my focus is rooted in limiting beliefs (concrete Beliefs) I am automatically limited. Most instances people around us limit us because of their own past experiences. If your friend "Tammy" was once hurt by someone in a relationship, they will detail to you how "man are trash" and this will influence how you approach relationships. You will only have one foot in and one out to avoid experiencing what your friend "Tammy" went through.

This is how environments condition us and make us conform to limiting  Beliefs. We all have great potential but the only threat to it is what we believe. The things we believe shape us and mold us.. What beliefs have shaped your life? You are not stuck in poverty but your concrete beliefs help you identify with that place. You are not stuck in an unhappy marriage but you are trapped by the limiting beliefs.....

Some of us believe in the government and politicians because we were made to believe that we were their responsibility. This concrete belief eats at our minds, hence many of us spend our lives waiting for saviors and blaming the big, faceless man "Mr Government". Concrete Beliefs are ideas that have been cemented in our minds and hinder our growth. Society today is full of individuals who lack accountability hence most never get much done, for they are limited by opinions of others and their own beliefs.

Matthew 13:58 reads as follows

"And he did not do many deeds of power there because of their unbelief."

Jesus Christ did not many deeds of power in Nazareth because of the concrete Beliefs of the people there. So in this context their unbelief was a concrete Belief. They did not experience miracles because of their own limited view of Jesus Christ. What I am trying to point to is that sometimes we are in spaces where divine things can happen but we are limited by our own experiences and beliefs so we miss our miracles and our chance at greatness.

Say you want to be a billionaire and you share your dream with someone and because of their own experience they tell you "It cannot be done, you are crazy, infact who do you think you are?". You will be demotivated and slowly you will begin to doubt yourself because people around you do not believe it can be done. This is a concrete belief and until and when we begin to drop and break our concrete beliefs we will never exit this quagmire. New things can happen only when we begin to pay careful attention to our limiting beliefs.

Furthermore Generational curses are at times passed on to the next generation because parents instill their own concrete beliefs in their children. They pass them down like a relay, from one generation to the next... So if your parents believe that it is impossible to live your dreams and that the best way is just survival and not thriving, you will be limited.. Concrete Beliefs are everywhere around us and they differ at times they seem as a protection but over time they destroy potential and hope for a better future.

Lastly most of us believe our opposition is external and not internal when in reality we might be the own enemy of our success or progress and our concrete Beliefs keep us from reaching our destiny. If we begin to break down our concrete beliefs, we can "break into" our destiny.

Note:Remeber concrete is hard to break down and it will take consistent efforts and consistent prayers to break it down.
